Hello all,

I recently detected a old copper mining town form the late 1800's.
I found this rock which went OFF like a screaming banshee.(ie.good strong tone)
I had no idea what it was until a couple of days later when I cleaned it up
- I got me copper nugget...thought I'd share it with you.

Nice copper, Terra! It's not every day that we extract metal from Mother Earth in its natural form. Good Hunting.

That's a great find. Native-Copper Nuggets are an interesting mineral that always looks great in any collection. Nice piece you found too! Congrats!

Hey that's cool T59.

Some years a go I use to dredge for gold and I found a few copper nuggets, but not as big as the one you found. I think they are cool.

I found one years ago. Guess I should look for it. But...It is nowhere as nice as the one you found. Good Luck.

Congrats on that great find! I really like seeing the copper in its natural form. Good hunting, Beale.

Thanks to all ,

Yep, I wasn't expecting it but I am very pleased.
I have been a fossicker for a decade and always wanted one, but only got into m.d. a year or so ago and snagged one.
I reckon a silver nugget would be cool as well.
I am heading to Victoria (another state) soon and will try for a gold nugget with the 5"x10" HFDD 18.75Khz elliptical;- :detecting:

Buck, being an Aussie, it was found Down Under ...in the state of South Australia.
