Hi Tabman,, I looked up copper dimes on the net. They do make them just for collecting. Still a fun find. Might be worth a couple bucks. I enjoy your post... KEN
 
ive had some come out of the tumbler looking like that if i accidentally mixed them in with the pennys and nickles..
 
I agree with bootyhound. If you put them in the tumbler with pennies they will turn copper colored. Too bad those pennies won't turn silver when mixed. Nice find by the way Tabman. HH :minelab:
 
Reminds me of a time when I retrieved a clad dime from a stream bed. The tumbling from the sand and through the gravel had worn the silver off leaving a true copper dime that still had a clear dime impression.

Do you remember when you were a kid and got a chemistry set for Christmas with all those nice (toxic) chemicals. I remember taking dimes and quarters and turning them into copper colored coins in a mixture of goop. Maybe that's what ya got!
