copper and brass item?

Found this piece and stumped as to what it was, appears to be all hand worked, some of it is definetly copper, the fork looking part (broken missing point?) is either copper or brass, about 2 inches wide and 4 inches tall, can see hammer marks on rivets, which look like copper also. have found some other really old items from 1700 and 1800's at this site, this was part of something but I have no clue.
 
Door lock of some kind? Looks operable like a hammer style influence from a musket but more daily use????

Looks like part of an old electric can opener to me...turn the first pic 90 degrees left. is that the cutter edge?
