Cooler Beach Hunting:

Nancy-IL

Well-known member
Larry and I went up to Wisconsin and did a little beach hunting in the mornings. It was too hot to hunt in Central IL. I came across two - $1 bills laying on the surface and that helped in the total of $6.97. I also found one junk ring and cross. Other than that, no jewelry was found. We didn't find much, but had a great time trying.

Larry had contacted the local police department and talked to a Sargent and he gave us the thumbs up to hunt. What a guy!

Our total: $12.28. Here's a picture of my finds and the beach. Thanks for looking.

Nancy,

Way to go! I knew once you dug all the treasures in Illinois you would move on to another State! A very nice haul. I especially like the turtle. My wife is from Racine. Maybe I'll take the MXT with me the next time we go back to the Midwest and check out the beach there on Lake Michigan. Thanks for the pictures.

Pete

That's where we detected! North Beach is a beautiful beach and very clean. The police dept. is very friendly and all parks, etc. are fair game. I hope you and your wife get to go back there again soon. Don't forget your MXT and sand scoop.

My favorite is the turtle also. :clapping:

Hey Pete..

My wife graduated from Horlick in 1968. She still has a sister who lives there and works at Pic 'n Save and a brother who had a stroke a couple years back and had to retire. My 2 favorite things about Racine..kringle and Derango's Pizza. Oh, and the Lake is nice...especially around Salmon-A-Rama.

Nancy, all finds are good if you enjoy the trip. Looks like a great place, too! I don't know hot it is in Central IL, but I'd be inclined to trade you....here we've been hovering between 108 and 115 all summer, with a couple days hotter. We have one of the largest beaches in the world: 200 miles of sand before you reach the water!

At least you HAVE water!!

Marc

200 miles of sand?? Do you live in Paradise? Sure is hot there, but is there humidity there also? That's what gets to me. Just can't take the heat and humidity together. And yes, we had a wonderful time. That's what counts.
