Had to get out and attempt to rescue some coins today. Ended up with 15 wheats, two Rosie's, a buff, a token and a sterling ring. Glad I went out.

Way to go Doc, I have been working the wet sand here in southern California, got a couple wheats and the rest clad. I bet your patients are glad you dug them out of the ground today. I guess the pennies ate to much wheat, and the dimes were just starting to get sick they have rosie cheeks, and the 12 and a half cent cigar coin must have gave you it's Token of appreciation, but the nickles illness was due to his red face. Ok enough sick puns, great diggin' Dr. Tones, Gene

Haha, thanks !

Is there any "good" way to clean aluminum tokens?

If they're really bad I use SOS pads with good results.

I wonder if better than 0000 Steel Wool and dishwashing soap? 0000 is extremely fine.

A rock tumbler with small aqua gravel plastic beads and some soap works awesome check it after 20 mins works on clad and nickels very well. Other then key dates of course.

Tones, try some soft scub on it with your fingers. Nice finds
