cool find...

[GRAY GHOST]

hello, everybody. i found this pair of buttons that are joined by a thick brass wire - looks kinda like a paperclip - on the back last weekend in an old farm field. the backs are plain, and i've been told they're buttons, extra buttons sold with a suit, cufflinks, and cloak [or cape] buttons. i'm not real sure what they are, i just know they're an old and cool find. they appear to be cast and drilled shanks. i have a pic of the back, but need to crop it down. so... it's a cool find, but what the heck are they exactly? thanks, and hh!
