I found this at a civil war site and was wondering if anybody knew if it might be a train token from the civil war or if it's more modern. thanks.
 
probably newer than civil war, maybe even modern. mta is probably maryland transit authority. you could do a google search on that. good luck.
 
Nice find, really good condition! It's from the Maryland Transit Authority, it was most likely used as bus, train, or subway fares although i'm not positive as to which one.
 
Well it is no older than 1969 when Walter J. Addison became the first Administrator of the newly formed MTA
