Hello BH fans,

Have you seen the new website? It's a big improvement over the previous one. Go to www.detecting.com to take a look. I own a Bounty Hunter Ranger Pro and I just love it! It is like the Time Ranger except without the preset programs. There are some things I don't understand though. Why was the Time Ranger discontinued? Also if you look at the website carefully it looks like they cleaned out most of the best models and left in what I would call "mediocre" units. Does anyone know why? On the positive side they now have caps and t-shirts for sale! It seems like when First Texas bought Fisher that most of the attention was placed on creating new units for the Fisher line and the Bounty Hunter line got neglected. Did anyone else notice this? I really don't care for the new Fisher stuff or the new Tecknetics stuff. I have always liked the original Bounty Hunter concepts better. If any of you own the new line stuff I hope you are enjoying them. They are just not for me. Hope everyone has a happy and prosperous New Year, :bounty::cool: RDF

Howdy,
I have the 505, and we bought the kids Grandad a Time Ranger for Christmas.
I called B.H. to validate his Warranty, and when I was talking to the feller , I asked why they were discontinueing the T.R.

He said they were putting more into the Teknetics line, and that the T.R. had been around for a while, and times change.
As far as I'm concerned, thats OK, We were able to afford the Time Ranger for Grandad, and he was Excited, to say the least.
Everybody thinks we should have kept that gift for last on Christmas day, as he had opened it first, and then as he opened other presents, he would say thank you , set it down , and go back to the detector.
The Time Ranger has been around for a lot of years, and I think there were 3 different upgrades, for a total of 4 different types of Time Rangers.
As Technology changes, so must the Manufacturers.

Any how, we all are new to our detectors, and we think its pretty modern , amazing stuff.

 Hi Dusty, Thanks for the info on the Time Ranger. So it's just as I suspected. They are focusing in on the TEK line. I guess it all depends on who is in charge. I just hope they design a new unit for the Bounty Hunter line in the traditional style of the TR. Some people have called those units " a muffler on a stick" but I like they way they look better than the new designs of the Teknetics, Platinum , F70, F75, & T2. A lot of people don't care how a detector "looks" but I take that into consideration along with the performance before I purchase. I hope Grandad has a great time with his new metal detector!
