Converting mpg. files to other format?

I recorded a video clip with my camera in an mpg. format. I want to post the clip to this forum so it will have to be convert to another file ext. Can someone give me some quidance on what or how it can be done?
 
Don't know a thing about the process but your might look into this site: http://video.online-convert.com/
