Converting a QII to a QXT Pro

Just finished upgrading my Quantum II to a v1.2 QXT Pro...Was much simpler than I thought....I figured it would have to be re-tuned or something, but all it took was changing out a chip.

Inside the box with the top removed (be careful of the wires)

New chip installed (remove batteries for at least 5 min before changing chips and use non-metallic tools)

Used hair dryer to remove old stickers - remove gum with 92% rubbing alcohol

New Stickers in place - heat them up with hair dryer, then smooth them out with the wax side of the backings

Now it is just getting out and learning the new features...I really like the mixed mode

I think the XLT came out too soon after the Quantums were introduced, and shadowed them...The XLT is a much better machine, but the QXT Pro is no slouch...I am liking it a lot

HH,

Great job, looks nice. Always alot of fun doing your own upgrading if you can. I have replaced a few side decals on some Tesoro's and use a product called Goo Gone instead of using rubbing alcohol. You can buy Goo Gone at Walmart and other places it doesn't cost much but works great.

Best thing I use all the time is plain old peanut butter it works better than anything else TRY IT!

Squueze an orange peel on it too...that works...the acid in the orange

I lied...I do not have a QXT Pro...I think it is just the QXT...Not sure if there was any programming difference between the two??? ANyone know what the difference was?
