though things with our aging parents are not going well. Sherry's Mom is drinking instead of going to the doctor to help her with her Alzheimers. She has rolled her car landing upside down on the roof after trying to avoid 'cars that just suddenly appeared out of nowhere' that she swerved to avoid. (We told her she could no longer drive but she will not listen). She 'hasn't had the time' to tell the insurance company. She told Sherry 'don't ruin Kay's thanksgiving'. (Kay is a person not family who is a leech on society and especialy Sherry's Mom but despite the fact Kay isn't family and she has stolen from Sherry's Mom and even trashed Sherry's Mom's house, apparently she is invited to the family thanksgiving and we are supposed to be sure not to ruin 'her' thanksgiving. We still cannot get a power of attorney to help Renee (Sherry;s Mom) but she is willing to let a stranger (again not family) be included in the financial matters he shouldn't have access to.
My step-mother is still in a nursing home and is slowly dying of malnutrition. Guess she wants to end her life dying of starvation. Her choice I guess.
We are still in the house we are trying to sell. One potential buyer says she is really interested in buying the place but she has had some family difficulties of late with one of her daughters (who needs our prayers to over come addiction). Once things on her end settle down then maybe she will be the buyer of this place. In the meantime, looks like yet another winter here.
Still only working 3 days a week. Sherry has no other job so pretty much living off what little I make. Have been trying to find another part time job or a full time job elsewhere but have not found one yet.
On the detecting note: Remember the Olt Town pics I posted? One of the buildings was having its parking lot tore up to put in a new one. Man what an opportunity to maybe find some old coins. Well the weekend it happened was also the weekend of the 99 year old Nanna's birthday - a lovely Christian prayer warrior - frail in body but strong in mind - so missed the detecting in the parking lot - its already paved over again.
Not complaining though as I did 'strike gold'. Sherry's step-mother (Bev) had her (Sherry's)(deceased) Dad's wedding ring that she wanted to give me about a year ago but it didn't fit so she kept it and I had forgotten all about it. Bev gave it to Sherry and to make a long story short I am now wearing it in place of my wedding band (that under $20 silver Wal-mart thing). The other band is on my right hand. I have no clue what the 'etiquette' in this situation is.
I believe it was Leslie a long time back had sent me a gold wedding band and it Leslie is now on Sherry's left hand so we both have gold bands on. Thanks Leslie.
We are still active with the church. Casey's Dad's health is getting poor - vision and other problems (and he is younger than me) - and wants Casey at 14 to learn how to drive. Since she doesn't make good decisions Casey is going to have to wait on that priveledge.
Looks like its going to be a cold winter. Hope everyone stays warm and toasty. My prayers to those who have needs that only God can provide the solutions to - may He meet those needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Will try to spend more time here. Thinking hard about selling plasma to help make ends meet. Been there before and done that but would rather have a full time job instead of a lot of part time stuff that may have time conflicts.
