continuing thought on lack of beach finds......

this is more of what it used to be like.... 25 yrs ago when the family started going to OBX, I could/would come home with roughly 25-30 bucks in found change and a gold ring...fast forward to today, ( 2023,2024 ) maybe 6-7 bucks in change total and a junk ring or two.

So, as was already stated, people are just paying thru their fones and not bringing it down to the sand... and junk metal is replacing gold and silver for jewelry. Will try again at the end of august ( 2025 ) and see if better luck is ahead.

Maybe try July 4th week. Probably bigger crowds and party goers

I used to go to the the beach in late September, but accidentally planned a trip right after Labor Day and I had way much better luck!
Now I go on Labor Day and stay a few days after that..
The reason I used to go in September was because it would be cooler by then, but finds were pretty scarce.
The first time I went on Labor Day, I found plenty of targets on the beach and quite a few along the surf line., but as the days go on, it gets slower and slower.
With that said, I have noticed not as many targets even then like my first trip there.
Lots of factors contributing to lack of finds now it seems.

Felix... I'm optimistically hopeful the labor day week will show more finds in the sand. The crowds should be still relatively large tho the kids should be back to school by then. The nox 600 will find it if its in the sand.

I’m sure there will more folks there during that time and hopefully more goodies too
Than when you usually go later in the year..
It sure has been for me.
It is slow where I go too if I go later in the year.
