The Photo is an example. I did not dig him up but he does enjoy a free ride on my GPX-4000 and NF-20" SL coil. He was eventually released after a few other pictures.

I'll try and help it along.
Probably not quite what you are looking for but this nugget is unique in that it bought up the 'overload' symbol on my scales.
GP Extreme with standard 11" DD coil.

This Relic from the past came from oregon.
I found it about a foot down in a old hydralic mining wash, while I was nugget hunting with my GP-3000 with a 16" nugget finder ultralite coil.
I think it has to be late 1800's to early 1900's
If anyone has any idea of the age, or info on this I would love to hear from them.
Some old timer was getting his shine on!!!!
It must have been attached to an old bottle. although I did not find any glass with this piece.

I found 2 44 calibur Henery rim fire rifle casings, with a 2200sd, while hunting a patch here in Mariposa. 8 inches down with the platypus coil. Grubstake

Hi All
I don`t get to nugget hunt but a couple a times a year so I don`t have that many finds outside of nuggets, most places I get to hunt your challenged to get a signal of any kind!I did find this cool buckle a couple of years ago hunting not to far from Rye Patch Nv.
It`s got a patent date of 1858 on the back.

Another friend of mine will not use his computer. Farrel in Idaho. GP 3000 is his machine as well as Mike's.

Error on machine used. Mikes pistol was a MXT. Farrels watch was a Gold Bug2. We mostly use the GP3000. For hunting gold.

aubummin,

Gerry,
This is still my most unusual find. I was chasing a signal around a pine tree up at Rattlesnake Canyon when I happened to spot a gleam of glass under a flat rock and out popped this 3/4 full jug of joy juice. I was using a White's GMT at the time. RD

Hi all,

This is an 1860's U.S. Cavalry coat button (note the "C").
On the back, it is marked:
HORSTMANN
* NY & PHIL *
This was found with a Gold Bug 2.
Thanks for the contest & fun!

[attachment 58476 05-11-16-RyePatchHeart-Fronte.JPG]I found this pewter and crystal pin at Rye Patch, NV with my White's MXT. It was dated to 1880 by a jeweler by the type of pin. Some pioneer lass must have been very sad over her loss.

I found this tektite a few years ago while beeping with 2200 and 18"DD.
These don't beep but are quite often specked on salt lakes when detecting.
This one I found in the high country so it hasn't been affected by the salt. Also it is quite a large one.
They are thought to be bits of Cambodia, the fall out after being hit by a meteorite.

Hey, RD, at least you were left with a swig.....

I might have to start keeping some of the stuff I find. If it is not gold it goes in the pocket and the to the trash can first chance I get. I think the only things I have keep are a coyote jaw and a few really old shovel heads.

:unsure:Hi all,

My entry for the day is a meteorite I found with a Minelab GP 3000, or was it a Gold Bug 2...I'm not sure... Hey, I'm old!

Yes, now I recall, I was using both!

In any case, they are both great machines!

I wasn't looking for meteorites when I found this piece, but it sounded off in my headphones, and it looked heavy and "different" from the other rocks in the area, so I put it in my pouch, to examine later.

The following day, I spied some miscreants approaching in a lowrider,:stretcher: with their speakers pumping loud, an odd sight, in such a remote and desolate area, but who did it turn out to be but the famous John B. and his buddy, Rob Allison:jump:. I showed the rock to John B. and he said "Looks like I am a day late, that is a good find!"

Apparently John B. had gotten wind of another meteorite that had been found earlier in the area, and was going to search for other remnants of that find. Sorry John B.

John generously told me who to contact, that being Bob Verish, who is big in the meteorite world.

The meteorite has been classified, and has an official name: Majuba 3.

For more OFFICIAL info on the meteorite, this link out:

Photo credit: Bob Verish, Bolidechaser Extraordinary, who graciously got my meteorite classified.

Thanks!
