Considering Switch from Excal to Explorer

Hi
I'm seriously considering waterproofing an Explorer and selling my Excalibur. (I'm confident I have the ability to convert one.)
My impression is that it would perform at least as well as an Excalibur in salt water. I'm thinking the notch capability and extra depth would be a plus.
My Excal is three years old, and although it has had no problems...I'm thinking it may be time to trade it in (avoid repair/and new battery costs). So...why not waterproof an Explorer!
Has anyone been hunting with a waterproofed Explorer out there?
Comments, as to what I could expect, would be appreciated.

I would seriously think Minelab would be in the process of building a water version of the explorer..Of course dont know how all the options would be able to be used, but even if they set it up with just -16 iron mask setting up through the whole disc range on one knob and a sens control, the tones alone are enough for good ID

My only concern would be condensation. I'm sure Minelab has designed the Excal. with epoxy coated boards and stainless hardware with this in mind. Not sure what the Explorer specs are.
Remember, when you make an item waterproof, condensation can be a issue. But a waterproof model of the Explorer sure would be a great beach unit
