considering buying a 1270x

I relic hunt with cz's& do very well. Im considering getting a 1270x. What do you guys think.

I would say that your choice of the 1270 for relic hunting is a good one!
But if your going to get one off the used market make sure its one that has gone back through Fisher's service department.
Many of the 1270's had control housing mount issues and had to be sent back for repairs.
Other than that the 1270 is a power house detector.

I believe you will be very happy with it!! I use one as my primary relic machine. I have to say it surprised me in iron laiden areas where the 1266x would drive you nuts. And it also works great on coins and jewelry.

That would be a great choice, I've used one for a long time , be prepared to dig deep. May I say Mark is right there are a few thing they fixed on the 1270 , metal backing inside for the control box mounting also sealing the control box, some time the battery cover if not snaped in right may fall out and get lost be the battery will fall out, I put a VELCRO strap around it and never had aproblem again. check the Fisher web site there was a list of thing they fix. It's an awesome detector.............. Any help I can give drop me a line.

thanks for the help. I mostly use the cz's in the arsenal. Tbey are very deep machines.

Well guys I pulled the trigger today & bought one for $250.

Well you got a great deal  there is no way I would let mine go that cheap!! Congrats and let us know how you like it.

That is one hell of a deal. at that price the guy who sold it got clipped, he didn't know what he gave up.

I second that shooter!!!!

Got it off of ebay. Like new condition. Now i hope it turns on &I works.

Same place I got mine, except I paid $305 plus shipping for mine and it didn't work. So shipping fee to Fisher and $135 for repairs and it was good as new and what a deal, got it for around $475. When I got it, it was the dead of winner and all I did was turn it on and air tested it and put it away until spring. I think the guy knew what he was doing to try and pass off a bad detector.

When you get yours check it out real good real quick outside on the ground or test garden even better if you have one. Check the control box and see if feels loose, they had problems with them breaking off and they have a kit fix but you need to send it to FT.

Good luck with yours,

Ron in WV
