Considering a Coin Strike

For those of you that hunt coins, what are the advantages of the C$ over the ID Edge? Is the C$ much harder to learn than the Edge? Even if you have only used one, how do you feel about the one you have? You guys aren't quite as noisy as some on the other boards.

The Coinstrike is an awesome coin machine! It hits hard and locks on especially on round objects. It gets very good depth. The sweep speed is fast. It has great recovery speed and target seperation. But don't let the name fool you. It's a good relic machine as well. The ID Excel is very similar. It's lighter and it's quick too. I have to give the edge to the Coinstrike on depth. I use both and I think they compliment each other very well. The C$ is no doubt my favorite, but that ID Excel is a lot of bang for the buck! I don't think you would be disappointed with either mcahine.

I used a Coinstrike from the time they came out up until last year and now have the ID Edge. The Edge is pretty much turn on and go compared to the C$ with a short learning curve. The Edge makes the tough finds seem relatively easy compared to 90% of the detectors I have used or am currently using. ;)

The Coinstrike is definitely there when ultimate depth is the key factor but for most of my hunting that is not important. Given a choice I'll take the Edge.

I had one before and gave in to pressures of "gotta try 'em all". I traded it away, but always missed it. Finally got another and don't plan on lettin' her go. It has found goodies for me that other machines did not find. I have areas with red clays and the 'Strike cuts right through it. Picks through trash like a small coil with incredible reset speed. I don't have a Edge, so I can't help with that part...

or better yet, get an ID Edge, then if you decide it aint for you, I got an Xterra 70 I might trade you hahahahahahahahaha. I got a Coinstrike and it's my favorite machine and I have used a ton of them. But with that being said, if I had an option to chose between the Coinstrike and the ID Edge, I would probably go for the ID Edge, mainly because it's lighter and from what I have heard pretty close to the depth of the C$, but they would have to show me that for me to believe it. Now the only reason that I would opt for the ID Edge is it's new cutting edge technology. But then again, the Coinstrike aint no slouch in that department either.
