Conquistador

Bought a conquistador a few days ago now I understand they dont make them any longer, is this correct ???? thanks Bob sw.mo

Bob: I don`t think they have taken them out of the catalog yet. But they are making a model called the Cibola, that feature for feature is nearly identical.
My guess is that if the Cibola and the Vaquero sell as well as they seem to be they will replace the Conquistador and my Eldorado.
The Cibola & Vaquero run at a higer frequency so coils won`t interchange. And is reported to be hotter.
However your Conquistador is a very good machine and all coils for the uMax line will fit it.
I hunted alongside a Conquistar for a while last spring and the machine is no slouch by any means.
Since I have the Eldorado & Cortes and an assortment of coils that interchange I have no immediate plans to buy a newer model.

Hey Bob the Conquistor is a excellent machine. It is my backup to my Eldorado. Plus it is my competation hunting machine. It is excellent at pinpointing and I really like the frequency shifter.
Goodluck and happy hunting.

I have a conquistador and it does not matter if they make a triple cibola to replace it as far as I am concerned. I think its a first rate turn on and go detector with a good frequency for finding coins and jewlery along with its pretty good on gold jewlerly.
With the small 4 inch coil it can target separate and pick out goodies in the real trashy areas.

Hey Bob,
I've owned a Conquistador for about a year and I really enjoy using it. It's true it has been replaced by the Cibola, but it is still a hard machine to beat. I recently bought a Tejon so the Conquistador is going to be fitted with a cleansweep coil for hunting on the beaches. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me.

Give me my eldorado any time. I have hunted for 15 years and used a lot of detectors and have never enjoyed any of them asmuch as the eldorado. Simple, fast, light and always ready to go.
