Conquistador ?

Is the Conquistador basically a Cibola as far as operation goes? Are they a good coin and jewelry machine? Would a good one be worth $125? I have a chance to get one for that but am not familiar with that model. Thanks for any help.

I have a Conquistador

The Cibola is very similar to the Conquistador, but is later production from what Tesoro calls the HOT series, whereas the Conquistador is from the earlier

Thanks for the reply Bill. This one is the Umax model so i am hoping it turns out to be good on coins to at least 6-8 inches? You have any idea how they do on small gold jewelry? This one has the 9x8" coil on it and i will be looking for a 5.75" for it i know.

Mine does excellent on small jewelry, the Compadre does better on small gold chains but believe me the Conq. will hold its own. I have found several pieces of small jewelry, I run it in disc. mode with disc. set about iron or a touch under. One thing I have to add is the last couple times that I used it I was digging up a number of coins all around 4 inches or less and said to myself whats up with this thing can't it do any deeper than that and all of a sudden I got a good solid beep dig down check the hole target still in hole, dig deeper, still in the hole, dug some more and out pops a nickel from a good 7 or 8 inches. I made it a point to check closely my next digs, I found a few more nickels at that depth and was careful digging to make sure that the coin wasn't in the side of the hole, etc. There are many folks on the forum that can tell you that I change detectors more than some change their underwear but I have had my Conq. since the winter and have no plans on getting rid of it, and for me that is saying something. I did consider selling it when I had a chance to buy a nice Bandido II

Thanks Steve, that's what i like to hear. Hope to have it by Tues or Wed. As for the disc setting you set yours about the same as i do with mine. And like you, i do a LOT of changing detectors.
