conqistador vs outlaw

own a conquistador and love it but got a great deal on an outlaw, wondering if there is much difference, can someone guide me a bit?

If the great deal involves getting rid of the Conquistador to get the Outlaw, then you need to ask yourself if you're happy with what you've got, how well it works for you, and if you're happy with your finds.

If the great deal means having both detectors, then the Outlaw should be a great addition to your detecting "family". It has ground balance and that should give it an advantage over the Conquistador, but if your ground is well suited to the Conquistador and vice versa, then the advantage might not be all that great.

If you've already done the great deal, then take your time to get to know the Outlaw, its ground balance and re tuning setup. It is a good machine, but you might find it a bit different to the Conquistador. HH

thank you sir, l have used the Conquistador, also own an Xterra70,l find it a little clumsy and slow on occasion depending on the hunt. l haven't yet decided whether or not to sell the Conquistador, haven't seen many opoinions on it.

I wouldn't worry too much about what other people think of the Conquistador. It's what you think and how you feel about it that matters. Are you happy with its performance? Do you enjoy using it? Does it cope ok in the areas that you hunt with it?

Tesoros and the X Terras are like chalk and cheese...very different, but both work ok. You should get some idea from your X Terra 70, which has ground balancing facility, whether or not you need a detector like the Outlaw, which also has manual ground balance, whilst the Conquistador has a fixed pre-set ground balance.

For example, does your X Terra 70 get more depth than your Conquistador, and is its target identification more accurate. If so, then a machine with manual ground balance might be very useful for you. I'm aware that your Conquistador does not have visual ID, like the X Terra 70, but by using the discrimination scale on the Conquistador, you can determine whether or not it is accurate in its identification of targets. Good Luck and HH
