Elton,
What a great year for Red Sox fans. I miss watching them play and hope they have the same type of team next year.

I've been a fan since 1946. On my first day of school in the first grade, my new friend asked me who I liked, the Red Sox or the Braves. Both Boston teams were having good seasons that year. I really didn't have a favorite but didn't want to get on the wrong side of my new friend so I answered his question with my own. "Who do you like?" I asked. "The Red Sox", he answered. "Yea, me too." I said and that was the day I became a Red Sox fan.

When they won in 2004, I went to the duck boat parade and followed the duck boats through the city and back to Fenway. A young man next to me at the park was holding a Costa Rican flag and tossed it to Manny Rameriz as the duck boat passed by. Manny signed it along with several other players and tossed it back to the kid. He turned and hugged me and said "Isn't this the greatest?" I replied, "Yes, it is." and it was one of the greatest moments in my life as a Red Sox fan.

Go Sox!
