Congrats to our Canadian Brothers !!!

The Conservative win is a welcome one. It is unsure still how this will all play out since the win was only with a minority government. They will need the cooperation of members from the other parties to fullfill their election promises and pass any new legislation, which won't be easy to come by.
But it is alot better than another Liberal win.
God bless,
MM

I hope and pray some body changes their minds on bringing Canadian garbage into Michigan-that is a REAL burr under my saddle!!

Steve, I heard that the reason they do this (mostly garbage from Toronto) is because it is cheaper to transport it and dump it in Michigan than to buy land and operate a landfill closer to Toronto.
I don't like the idea either. I also have heard that in Michigan they are going to be increasing the dumping fees for out-of-state trucks to the point that it won't make financial sense anymore to Toronto.
Toronto garbage has been a problem for a while. Funny, not one conservative won in Toronto despite having about 30 ridings. Liberals and garbage go together.
Anyway, things are looking up for the Federal government. The out-going Prime Minister Paul Martin was nominated Man of the Year by Gay rights groups last year because he railroaded gay marriage through parliment last year. The new PM Stephen Harper has said he would have a free vote on the issue, which may reverse the ruling. Obviously a sticking point with gays and "human rights" groups.
Our out-going Minister of Health is an openly gay Liberal who has stepped up his wedding plans with his "partner" because of the impending vote. (What a contraction - Minister of Health and a gay lifestyle!) He also was in the US last November at a gay doctors conference trying to convince gay doctors to move to Canada to open up practices with the Gay marriage thing as a selling point. And they say the Conservatives have an agenda!
No gay doctors checking my prostate thank you!
More to come!
