:confused::whites: mxt question

have a question concerning the mxt: if hunting coins ,jewlery,and gold items i have heard the mxt will hunt deeper with the relic mode?is this right?this is using the 9.5 stock coil .

:pulltab:bill

Bill, I use the stock coil many times when hunting deep targets in relic mode. In my experience, it seems to go about the same depth no matter what mode you're in. I honestly can't say if the other coils go deeper or not. I have many coils, but I seem to come back to my stock coil or the 5.3" coil. These two coils pinpoint the target perfectly and that is what I like. I wish I could help you, but I'm sure there's others on here that could do much better than I. HH to all, Nancy

5.3 pinpoints better than 6x4 DD Eclipse or 7x4 Excelerator?

To answer your question, even the experts don't agree. One theory is the C/J mode is deeper because the Relic mode is more filtered.
I honestly don't believe I see much difference in depth between the two modes. Of course there is no argument the prospecting mode is the deepest.

I really like to hunt for coins and jewelry in relic mode. Because I can run without the chatter of the C/J mode I can run at +3 without problems. Maybe this is why some think relic is deeper. In relic I can really hear and separate ferrous and good targets better that are close together. Not having a 12' coil, my 9.5 is my deepest coil in my soil. It is definitely deeper than my 6x10. Now that depends on who you talk to, Nancy is by far a pro at detecting and likes her stock and 5.3 and it's obvious you like your 5.3, but I have to disagree with they are the best. I can't pinpoint with ether one of them. And do very well with the DD coils like the 6 X 10 Eclipse and the 4.5 X 7 Excelerator which pinpoints off the front or back tip. I can get right on my target, so I think it is really what a person is used to and even learns on. So one coil isn't better then another but it's personal choice. The only real difference in coils is ground coverage and depths.:whites::detecting:

Different opinions keep the world turning. I like the 6X10 and the 4X6 better than the 9.5 and the 5.3, also. I haven't had much problem pinpointing with any of them. That doesn't mean I don't like 5.3 however, and I do use it a fair bit. Don't care much for the 9.5 as the 6X10 slips thru moderate trash noticeably better. As to the original question whether the Relic mode is deeper than than the C&J, not enough that i've noticed it. Maybe it some soils on some target? Haven't done enough with it to say one way or the other.

I think the relic mode is deeper here.gnd on mxt here is between 68 and 88.The high tone gives away ones that are hidden next to other items depending were you have disc, set.Lately i have been hunting coins in prospecting mode take some time to get use but results are pretty good.You have to watch screen a lot and iron percent but you will find hidden items .Use stock coil and 6 inch ex coil and whites 4x6 mini.Like 6 inch best stock coil go deeper but a lot of noise.
