PLEASE, DID SOMEONE TRIED THE HEADHUNTER PULSE DETECTOR ONCE?????
I WANT TO BUY A SECOND DETECTOR (ALTERNATIVE) TO GO DEEPER THAN MY EXPLORER SE....
AS YOU KNOW THE EXPLORER SE GOES 10 INCHES MAX, IT

The conection of the coil whit the headphones-control box can be broken when it twist, easiliy. It will be better for you buy other detector

They did a modification a few years back to cure that problem.

Performance wise I would put the Headhunter above the Whites Surfmaster but below the Dual Field. A little easier to distinguish iron but pinpointing is a little offset. One of Erics pulse designs...I think.

I had the new headhunter pi and It is really good but.......the conector is very bad and the cup seals,,mmmmm,no,no

I agree with that. I did tell Oscar that if diving I would look at a different machine and there is the question of which coil size with the large having great depth but the eight inch seeming to suit the detector better.

I have and use the Headhunter Pulse, the black model rated to 100". First of all, it is a fantastic detector. Second it is best used for wading at the beach. I would not trust the seals for diving. I prefer the 8" coil, it is the most smoothest operating, and sensitive coil for low conductivity targets (small gold) that I have used and will hit a ring or nickel at at least 12". I used to own and use a Whites Surfmaster Pro. The 11" coil will go extremely deep. It also will hit a soda can or larger target at several feet. It runs not as stable IMO as the 8", can be very difficult to pinpoint with, and not quite as sensitive towards the smaller gold targets (very small rings, chains, earrings, etc.). It does use 2 - 9v batteries up within a 2 day hunt but it does punch out some power.

I had one for a couple years and it was a good detector. But the better depth you are looking for, you won't find with this detector. It will go about the same depth as your Explorer, but you will dig plenty of trash, which your Explorer can eliminate. If you want more depth in a pulse detector, go with a Pulse Power Detector by Eric Foster. He designed the Headhunter circutry several years ago and he has newer models out with better depth. Click on the Surfscanner box up top on this forum, to see some of Erics Pulse detectors for sale.
