:confused:NEED EXPERT ADVISE;HOW TO CLEAN ANY KIND OF COIN FOUND?

There are different methods for each type of coins.
clad = tumbler or tooth brush and water
silver = tooth brush under water, just don't grind the dirt in!
old copper = same as silver if bad corrosion soak in olive oil and use tooth pick to pick off gunk!
valuable coins! "DON"T CLEAN"!!!!!!!!!!!

need more details just holler! :)

I made this out of an old 12v adapter and it worked really well for silver. As Mike said, you don't want to use it on anything that is even remotely valuable...

Unfortunately, there was something on this particular web page that wasn't on the one I first read... That was to be careful with coins that have a patina because sometimes the patina IS the coin. I found that out first hand after trying to clean a large cent that was in bad shape. You could barely make out the lady before cleaning but after the cleaning, well, she was basically gone :) The crust that was on the coin was the only real detail. Oh well, live and learn. It's a pretty cool process though, fascinating to watch work.
