Hello I have just received my Fisher F 75 today what would be the best settings for me to use.
(Ploughed soil)
(Pasture).
Many thanks Ian.

First off, there is a (plowed field) mode, PF for searching over uneven ground. If you are new to the F 75, though, I highly recommend hunting for several hours in the factory preset modes and digging different targets for simply getting a feel for what the 75 is saying and id'ing the various targets at. I personally us the de mode a lot with disc. 6, sen. 80 or so and tones 1-3h, depending on the situation. I never use more then 6 disc. and use 0 quite a bit. The je mode is good too, if the site is not overly trashy. Be sure and get a good g/b. Good luck with the F 75, it is one awesome detector. HH jim tn

I use mine mostly in De Disc: 6 Sensitivity 60-70, notch: 1 Tones 2f-3h Haven't done the Monotone yet. I usually hunt around alot of interference so I have to use the DE mode..JE mode for me is to sensitive...

When I first got my F75, I hit school playgrounds and tot lots with wood chips for practice. Easy digging and a good number of targets for learning the new detector. For pinpointing, the target is usually in the red triangle, most often near the front where the middle fins connect to the center of he coil. You might like the 4H tones, as zinc pennies have their own distinct tone. The F75 is a great detector with amazing recovery speeed. Enjoy!
