Well, I was considering pictures for the MDI magazine. Since they want some from the field I was trying to figure out what to take pictures of and I can't make up my mind what to send.

I mean, do I send the one where I have the faceplate off and the board pulled out far enough that shows me standing there with a screwdriver stuck into it guts ground balancing it over some turf?

Or do I send the photo of me looking for one of the faceplate screws I dropped in the grass with my pinpointer while holding my Golden with its guts all spilling out?

Or do I send the one where I once again have the faceplate off and the board pulled out ground balancing it in the sand?

Or do I send the photo of me looking for one of the faceplate screws I dropped in the sand with my pinpointer while holding my Golden with its guts all spilling out?

I don't know. I can't make up my mind.

On one hand I want to sing it's limited praises, on the other hand I want to bash Tesoro's engineers over the head with it. :ranting:

But..It sure would be an interesting pic and story if they did print it up...

Mike,
We would really like one of you out in the field with your find.

With a slam like that I am sure you're going to get first place . If you are not happy with what you got ya might want to get something else. Your detectors are just fine Tesoro, keep up the good work.

It would probably be an "OK" picture if I was wearing my 'pudding' face :lmfao:

I probably couldn't live without a Golden/Cleansweep combo, Skiwhiz.

I just get fustrated sometimes. Especially when I drop the faceplate screws into the grass or sand and have to crawl around hunting for them. :rage:

Make sure it's a cold, windy day and you have a runny nose when you take those pics. Preferably in the sand.:clapping:

pick the "lessor of the two evils!"
why not show the gold coin you found with it!

So you're always going around with a screw loose?
Worse than that sling, he's got two loose screws :poke::laugh:.

Mike------"Spill your guts" out to em about/showin your pudding face (you mentioned) while you're crawling around in the grass looking for that lost screw!!----Having the Golden laying there in plain view, with IT'S guts hangin out (of course)! :lmfao:-----How's that for havin a "loose screw"?------If they had manual gb on the Golden I would have had one a long time ago.-----If they would include that on that nice little machine, I'll bet they would sell a LOT more of them.-----------Del

I have to admit that I have wondered for some time now why tesoro doesn't use the auto-ground tracking/or auto GB like they have on the Lobo - just for the disc mode as well as AM. A lot of the old Fisher 1200 series had it and for good reason too.
Many new users are intimidated by manual GB and therefore they buy something with a preset GB.
If they could apply a Automatic Ground Balance to at least a few machines, it would increase their sales dramaticly, the Golden definitly could use it. Being that it is a I.D. by sound machine, it does without a doubt NEED some form of convenient GB control for clean discrimination and all around versatility.

Mike, you do make a good point about having the screws out and working that trimmer pot, I'll be in the same boat useing the GSll.

i agree! damn minerals affect hunting everywhere!
if the golden had it,then the tone hits would be more precise
with less bounces, and a smoother running detector in general.
just sayin'
