hey all,
is there any sites, or ideas for sites here in southe florida? broward county area? i exhausted my self for hours online looking for inland sites around here. until i get a better detector my efforts wont amount to much at the beach where alot of florida treasures are found. any ideas would be great. you guy up there by VA and all the civil war areas have all the fun :please: thanks for reading.

I am also in Broward and have exhausted myself on line searching but to no avail. Most of the county is not very old from what I am finding, and in the northern parts of the county, some cities are as 'old' as 43. I logged on to cities around me for thier history (used Google) and found it was farmland in the early 1900's and marsh.

yea, thats pretty much what i came up with. it seams that the MD hobby is centered around the beaches here in south florida. im saving money for an excal so i can have a fighting chance at the beaches and in the water.:starwars: im going to visit my folks in lake placid, fl. (central) and have started asking for permission to hunt up there. it has a history a little over 100 years old. its a 2 hour drive straight up U.S. 27. hopefully ill have some luck there.

I have been researching on line for hours today and I did find that there was a war with the seminoles in 1836 around Lake Okeechobee. Researching the Florida Indians may bring new info and sites? Good luck in Lake Placid, at least its older than 40! Not much land to speak of now in Broward. Here in Creek the farm land is being developed by the Seminoles and their Hard Rock. Hard to find undeveloped areas or even old homesteads for that matter.

hey new 202 user, dont forget that all ground is old ground. [unless its already been hit] keep in mind that the spanish were all over florida from the 1500s. their settlements are all over florida. many relics and coins have been found from that time period and since then. i believe that central florida also had the battle of olustee during the civil war. hh,

i havent been out recently, was waiting on a few things i ordered to arrive. i was planning on going out today but its been raining off and on all day so far. im focusing my efforts on parks, tot lots, etc for now. just trying to get as much time in as i can swinging the coil.:detecting: when i go up to lake placid i was going to try the dry sand at some fresh water beach near some fishing and swimming holes. still waiting to hear back from some places to see if i have permission or not to hunt up there.:sadwalk:
