I know most of you all don't use the same camera I do. However, I'm hoping someone can at least help with my situation.
I bought a Kodak Easyshare C340 back in Febuary. So far, I love the thing. I've got a 128 MB SD card that I'm using for internal memory, and just fit that right into the card reader that's on my laptop. I don't use the Easyshare software that came with the camera. I feel it's a waste of time and effort on my part. I don't have the software installed on either my laptop or desktop computers.
When I first got the camera, I had no problems capturing video. With the 128 MB card, I can get almost 3 full minutes of video. It's not the best in the world, but it's better than nothing.
Shortly after I bought the SD card, I would try to capture some video, and get a message about "Memory speed is to slow. Change cards or swith to internal memory". I hadn't changed any settings. I thought that maybe the card was going bad, but, it still captures plenty of still images.
Last week, one of my kids got hold of my camera, and unbeknownst to me, captured about a dozen still images, and over a minute of video! HOW THE HECK?!?!?!?!?!?
I just tried to capture some video, and got the usual message. I've been to Kodak's website, and looked up the FAQ for my camera concerning video, but the only answer I got was "change the card".
Has anyone ever dealt with something like this? I could use the internal memory to capture some video, but I'll only get about a minute of video with it. I'm planning on buying a larger capacity SD card anyway, once I get some money.
I've tried formatting the card (which I do every time I rip the images off onto my laptop's HDD anyway). I've tried capturing a still image first, then video, and I get the same message each time.
I'm going to go and get the handbook out and read the part about video, to see if there are any tidbits in there for me.
