computers and the ctx 3030

i don't have a computer.so,it seems rather pointless buying a ctx 3030 when you need one these days to find out how to use one.in days gone bye you got a half decent manual to explain the facts of life to using a new detector.it would seem not anymore.only for the rich and computer smart.emu bob

I was computerless when I bought my CTX .
I have gone to IPads as there more user friendly for me anyway.
I did buy a cheap computer just to use the CTX software . I have some relic fields and find it useful to see where I have been and mark finds.
It is a lot easier to do program changes with a computer but it can be done without.
One more thing, Andy’s CTX book is the MD bible for me , I go to it often to brush up or check out what a setting does.
I did watch about every CTX related YouTube video that was available before I got my machine
So I guess a computer is not 100% nessasery but helpful.

Also....I do all my programming and patterns on the CTX itself. I think the only thing you NEED Xchange for is custom naming stuff.
