Compliment to Exp II

New member
I have been detecting for over two years now. I started with an XLT that I soon disliked because it never found deep stuff. I bought the Exp II to replace it and knew of the long learning curve. Well, I am starting to find the deep material!!!! I can go into hunted out parks with confidence of coming out with something good. However, I realize that you mean slow when swinging the Exp II. I can crank up the sensitivity, go slow as possible, the threshold will appear if set correctly. Away you go!!!!!

Now my question, I have started to think of a detector to compliment the slow deep searching Exp II. I would not like the programmable stuff, its OK on the Exp. I would like make desc. and sensitivity changes on the go. I seen the MXT has these features, but am leary of Whites due to the XLT experience. I would like to be able to go out to a site with no landmarks, ie a field, and cruise while getting good depth. I have friends with CZ's that love them, but finding one may be a problem, and I do not ebay at all. I have no knowledge of Tesoro's lines, and would be open to suggestions. I can not spend as much as I did before, probably 4-5 Bens. this probably puts me in ebay territory, I just never trusted them. That is a different issue.

Given an Exp II and one other detector, for land, what would it be???

Thanks
Chuck

Get an x terra. or goldmax power. Some say a T2 is a good compliment to the explorer. The xlt does have a depth problem - i owned 5 of them and only 1 out of the 5 seemed to be deep enough... i never got a coin past 7 inches with my xlt's. mostly 4 .5 inches is all i could get..

Pardon my ingorance, who makes the goldmax? Second, you bought 5 XLT's, the first on must have been the best. Perhaps the older models worked better. I got the same results no matter what program used 4-5 inches max.

thanks Doc

XP make the goldmax. I tried one on an iron infested sites and found it to be superb probably the best ever made in iron. A lighter faster detector is the ideal compliment to an explorer (just my opinion). Holy grail detector Here is my holy grail perfect detector WISH LIST DREAM.= 1 . I need a detector that works better on bad ground like iron infested and coke infested sites. 2. I need 50% better depth than what i get at present. 3 I need to know the shape of the target under the coil , rhis will save me lots of time digging junk. End of wish list. Maybe in 100 years time the wish will be realised. :goodnight:

I just did a field test on a T2 and loved it. Light, Big footed coil, deep to 15"+, Metered and multi tone.
I also did a mini test on the MXT and not a bad machine. Easy setup and you're hunting. Not like the DFX.
I am trying out the Tasoro Cortes right now and the F75 IS NEXT.

Whatever you do, don't by a used Fischer F-75. They have allot of problems brand new and many sold used are because those problems have not been fixed. A new machine and at least you have a warranty. Most warranties are not transferable. I got a second SE used that came with about 5 coils and an x-1 probe, but I bought it from someone I knew.

you will LOVE the F75.

I've had most detectors , and EX 2 is the one that I use the most . If you want a good back-up .and one of best coin detectors ever made ,Get yourself a XL pro with the 5.3 coil . Most old coins are 4" to 6" deep .... and if there deeper then that...Well that's what the EX 2 is for !

I'll find out soon. Its on order through the shop. I think the T2 is a great machine so I can't wait to get my hands on the F75.
