this was one of the few early compass models i never got hold of . but i would have thought similar performance to a coin hustler. here in the uk everyone brought the 77b and a lot of us stuck with them right into the 90,s we did used to go thru a few coils . and the battery wires often needed repair, but the compass tr,s were the best machines ever made. it,s a shame modern manufacturers are only interested in vlf motion detectors these days. on the worse contaminated sites the compass will beat most modern detectors hads down

..............................................................Thomas, hopefully you are having great success with this detector!!?? Like stated before the Compass TR's were some of the few that worked good in an iron-trashy environment!.................Most of the newer motion detectors would null out if the coin was next to a nail! Not so for the Compass!..................Good Luck................Joe
