WHAT IS THE ON/OFF SWITCH FOR ON THE BACK OF THE COIN METER
WHAT ARE THE BEST SETTINGS FOR COINS
ARE THERE ANY NEWER LIGHTER COILS THAT WORK ON THIS DETECTOR?

The On and off switch at the back of the meter I beleive is the switch for the Analog Meter Light, at least that what it was on my old X-100. If you need
a lighter coil try the 6" scanner coil (hard to come by). As far as advice about operating advice. I suggest you visit the Compass Forum as those gentlemen
over there will have plenty advice to help you get the best performance out of your X-80

yep. go to Compass forum. great guys, machine collectors and users, techno genius guys. they will not steer you wrong at all. wish they would all get together and commission a machine.
