Can anyone advise me if the tuning capacitors are available for this model , i have a faulty x100 that has an annoying threshold buzz that cannot be turned down. A dealer told me a couple of "special" capcitors may be the cause but are unavailable now sen as compass have gone now. Any advice here is welcome.

Call Kieth Wells, his business is located in Texas, it's called East Texas Metal Detectors. He has repaired Compass detectors for years as well as other brands. :)

A slight tweek on the circuit board cleared the problem and my x100 works a treat so no components needed , thats good news. This detector has 2 circuit boards. Both circuit boards are coated in a thick protective waxy resin of some sort. First i carefully scraped the wax off the presets and marked the setting's with a slight scratch mark viewed under a strong magnifier so that the setting can set back accurately this is really important otherwise the detector could be ruined by bad adjustment, a slight tweek of a preset brought the threshold down to a normal level , testing the detector carefully out side all functions are ok now.
