Compass x100 challenger

Hi everyone , has any one here used a compass x100 challenger and if so what is the detector like to use. I have sold my explorer se and have purchased a technetics 8500 and am now thinking of buying an x100.

Well its got more depth than the 8500 though not the excellent discrim. of the 8500/9000 and Bounty Hunter Mk 1's.
I found the X range a little to wide for comfort and a little to heavy.

Its the right model of the series as the coil (coplaner concentric)came down in weight a little. The X 70 I would not touch as the paint didn't stay on the control box and there were problems with the circuit board. X 80 was a nice machine.
The 100 ran at 13.77 khz (?). Weight was 5lbs. O.K. for the odd few hours but I would not want to use it full time.

If your in the U.K. there are a couple around for sale but I was told one isn't performing to spec. I could get 12 inches in the ultra max all metal mode on a ships halfpenny which was not as good as claimed by the dealer at the time. The X100 must be years old now and may have drifted off tune. Don't know how you would get on for spares/repair.

The situation is far better with the Coinscanner/goldscanner range which carried on in production for much longer and was much more popular in the U.K. So its a try before you buy situation.
