COMPASS { RM } QUESTION

New member
Have been using the RM7 for relic hunting. I would like to know is the kHz the same on RM5 & RM6 and what changes were made on the different models,or are they the same...Thanks.

I have a RM7 and a Coin Magnum, but I don't use them much anymore. Replaced them with an XT70.

Anyway, I asked the same question, several months ago (can't remember which forum), and as I recall the answer that I got back was 5 kHz.

Bustercrab, all of the RM series work on 3.4 KHZ The RM7 has a toggle switch to switch back and forth between the two modes while the RM6 only has a push-button retune switch and the switching between the modes must be done from a switch on the control box! The RM7 also has a switch to put it into an automatic mode, not so with the RM6! The RM5 is basicly an all-metal detector there is no discrimination whatsoever!.....................MERRY CHRISTMAS.........................Joe

Joe(TX)... thanks for the correction. I wasn't sure. Do you know if the Coin Magnum operated at the same freq.? Thanks.. Bob

The Coin Magnum operates at 5.83 KHZ while the Relic Magnum works at 3.4 KHZ.............................Joe
