comparison's between the compadre and the fisher 1212x

just doing some comparing between the two and would like to get a perspective view if anyone has owned both of these detectors just to see thought and opinions.

Haven't heard much about tha 1212x.

It is 0.9 of a pound heavier than tha Compadre.

It operates at 4.2kHz, where as tha Compadre
operates at 12kHz.

That would indicate that tha 1212x would be
more of a shallow depth coin machine.

That's just a guess. If I'm wrong, wouldn't be
tha first time.

But, I can tell you this. In tha really trashy sites,
tha Compadre can pick out coins, and other
goodies, that many high end machines, with
experienced users have missed.

It is not tha cheap machine it appears to be.
Only tha price is cheap.

My guess is that tha 1212x is not in a league
with tha Compadre.

But, I'm a Compadre freak. For what ever it's worth.

HH,

well there tab dog i have a brand new compadre coming tomorrow, just wish it had the 7" coil instead of the 5.75

Hay JMC,

I have both tha 7" and tha 5.75".

They are both very nice coils.

I like every Tesoro coil I have.

But, personally, I think tha 5.75"

is better over all.

Tha 5.75 is an awsome coil in

heavy trash. Even iron.

It takes patience because tha

Compadre can pick out targets

very close togather. But if you have

tha patience and learn it well, it

can really supprise you.

Tha 7" covers a little more and runs

a little smoother. It is a pleasure to

hunt, especially tot lots.

If you can master the Compadre,

that is tha basics of metal detecting.

From there you can expand your horizons.

Even if you already have some experience,

tha Compadre is to " shed tha bells and

whistles, and hunt by your witts. "

It is not a magic wand. But it is a very

useful tool when learned well.

I have two MD's for tha difficult stuff.

Those are tha Compadre and tha Euro Sabre.

For everything els I can use any of them.

But I like crusing with tha Vaquero.

I like cherry picking with Tha Silver Sabre uMax.

But, tha Compadre produces most of my gold jewelry

because most gold jewelry is shallow and just

seems to be in tha places where tha Compadre

and me like to be.

I make it my task to find gold jewelry.

It's not all I do.

But once I figgered out I could do it, I like it.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

Not sure I can agree with you on that one, TD.

The lower operating frequency of the 1212 would not hinder it's depth compared to a Compadre.

There's many other circuitry factors to be considered, but the lower frequency may be superior for depth.

I would venture the higher frequency Compadre is superior for fine gold, though, within 6 - 8" of the surface.

I do prefer my Tesoro machines to the Fishers I have.
