Comparing the GB 2 and X-T 70:

Have any of you tried both the GB 2 and X-T 70 with the 6" DD HF coil on very small gold? I have the latter and wondered how well it will perform as compared to the GB 2. I'll be using it on very fine glacial gold in the U.S.

I agree. The GB2 is going to consistantly find small gold as where the X70 will still find small gold but you have to swing real SSSSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW and you have to pass right over it. You will find small gold with the X70 but it will take much longer. check out my older post rye patch finds.... or something. I forget what I named the post but it was only like a week or two ago. Has some pics of small stuff I was finding.

Thanks guys on your input and any future posts, same for the info. on how to use the 6" DD coil over really fine gold.. I'm mainly a coin-shooter, but want to be able to do a little of both and some panning on the side. Strictly recreational...

Mtnmn,
I've owned them both and both have their places. If your looking at micro fine, wire thin spongy or spec, the GB2 is your digger hands down. If your looking at getting a little deeper for some size, say coins and such and have plenty of swing time that X70 is the tool for you.

JMO, but if I'm after gold I swing the TDI for depth and size and the Goldmaster on clean up!

Good Luck!
