Having hunted the last year or so with GH's 4 tone I started listening to what Digger has said numerous times regarding the 'factory' patterns and how they are optimized or tuned. So for the past 3 or 4 hunts I loaded up the Coin as the backup mode and have made a habit of switching from GH to Coin to compare depth, and numbers. I run GH in as high a manual sense as I can stand (25-30) and it tends to give weird numbers for targets. In GH, the tones are correct and the target icons are correctly located but the ID numbers (bounce around a bit) and depth (on sweep is about double actual depth and on pin point are close to actual depth) are really squirrelly. So in comparing the targets with Coin at auto +3, the displayed target icons and numbers are right on and the depth is correct (on sweep and pin point). I also found that when the GH got all noisy and chirpy I could switch to Coin and it quieted down instantly no matter where I was. Probably the high manual sense.
Now I think I am going to see what happens when I change the Coin tones to 4 tone. Should be the same accuracy and I believe the inaccuracy issue will pop up with high manual sensitivity. I seem to think I don't get as deep with the Coin but I will see.
