Compared the umax 3 x 18 CleanSweep coil to 3 x 18 High Output Technology coil

Air tested the umax coil on my Cortes and the High Output coil on my Vaquero. The High Output coil on the Vaquero is a whole lot more sensitive to small coins and rings. The High Output air tested a thin gold wedding band at 7 inches and the umax at 5.5 inches, both still giving a decent signal. But with those depths, pinpointing with the tips of the coil doesn't work, the signal is not from tip to tip anymore.

Thanks for the info. I like the Clean Sweep but depth isn't as good as I like. The Clean Sweep recovered a lost wedding engagement ring worth over a $1000.00 on Mother's Day and worked to cover the lawn exceptionally well. Here's to "diggin it"! Larry

I've been using my CS coil quite a bit on my SS uMax...

Shallow coin pinpoints about an inch back from the tip of the coil.
Deeper targets are drifting back to three and 4 inches from the tip.

It really throws me, when a Tesoro does NOT pinpoint precisely!

CS is good to cover ground quickly, but stock coil remains my favorite.

Hope to try a 5.75 this summer...

Thanks for insight on this coil. I thought it might be problem on my part. It did turn up a $1000.00 engagement ring in a grassy area on Mother's Day but I am finding pinpointing with it difficult.
