compare CZ5a against CZ3d

i updated this year from the CZ 6 to the edge the edge is doing very well i love it compared to the CZ 6 i know you will be happy with the edge

Cosmetically have changed the CZ3D to a plastic armrest, lower rod and coil are now black while most of the CZ6A's had a white coil.
Depthwise about the same but CZ3D may handle iron a bit better.
CZ3D gives you a choice of two modes one for old areas and one for new areas, while the CZ6A gives you a regular and salt mode...New area mode on the CZ3D is basically a CZ6A in the salt mode, while the expanded mode of the CZ3D has its meter facets changed to catch more old targets. Sort of dig more to find more in old areas...
Nasa Tom has an excellent article on the workings of a CZ3D and used correctly can be sort of two machines in one and excell in both new and old areas. Would read Nasa Tom's article and perhaps someone can provide the info to find it..My feeling is your CZ6A has some years on it and repair is expensive while a CZ3D comes new with a 5 year warranty..Many seem confused by different readings on targets in either zone but thats the way its made to excell in either a new or old area..As far as I am concerned any CZ no matter what model is a winner..

I agree with Jeff , the EDGE will keep-up with the most expensive units available. I have a CZ5,CZ3D, Coins-strike and Edge. Most of the time I pick up the Edge. Someone said the Edge was an upgrade of the Fisher ID Excel but that is very wrong, it's a completely different unit that functions more like Coin-strike.
