Compare 8.5 widescan with 11 by 8

I'm new to this computer age old to detecting .I've been at it since the 70's ,I just got a vaquero a few months ago and do love it.Has any one compared the new 11 by8 to the 8.5 widescan?

I guess what I would I like to know is if I switch to 8.5 will I lose much depth. I like the 11 by 8 but I hate spokes they catch on every twig and sprout in the woods where I do most of my hunting.

If what they say is true, that the widescan detects approx. as deep as it's WIDTH, there should be little noticeable difference in depth.

Possibly not a great amount of difference depth wise, but the 11x8 is going to give you more ground coverage for sure,i have one on my UK version of the Vaquero and its a very nice coil.

Thank you for answering my question, I put one on order today . I thought I was doing something wrong on the forum when nobody replied. Like I said I'm new to this.

Still getting used to forum l really like the 8by11 it hangs on twigs and branches on ground in the woods where I do most of my hunting thought about putting plexiglass to stop it.We have something in common . My grandfather came from England in the 20's marided a girl from New Orealens, became a preacher in Episcopal church in Ark. .

That's what I did but I glued it on hadn't tried it yet . Of course I glued it to coil cover if it doesn't work I only lose cover
