Is the compadre a vlf type of detector or is it one of those kids toys? If anyone out there has a compadre collecting dust and would like to find a good home for it , PM me.

You ain't my $70 little kids toy.

Because I like these From Just
one hunt with my little kids toy.

HH,

Man that's amazing Tabdog, your Compadre can even detect a plastic comb . Just kidding, it just shows how good them Tesoro's really are - even their less $$$ machines do a great job. Notice that I didn't say cheap, Tesoro never made a cheap detector just some cost more money than others. Great finds Tabdog! Steve.

Any of my Tesoro's would have done well there.

That was a matter of getting my coil over the

goodies without any discremination to ruin the mix.

That was a swim beach that had all ready been

hunted. There were dig holes all over the place. But

I racked up anyway.

HH,

Designed with the idea less is more. The modest machine can do a lot of the same thing it's bigger brothers can do.It works great for coin, competition, and relic hunting. But it does it without any excess knobs. Switch it on and your working in a silent search, motion all metal mode. As you turn the knob the discrimination kicks in..180-ED VLF 12kHz frequency built in mineral rejection....So the answer is it ain't no toy.....in fact it's a very good and reliable detector that will surprise you many times over......All the above was taken from Tesoro advertising for the Compadre.....Hope that helps !

Yes it's a VLF machine !!!!..and you will not believe the fast recovery it makes.

Toy - thats what kind of came to mind every time I saw it and and the Silver, I had always passed it up with other machines drawing my interest. Looked like they forgot the other knobs, switches and buttons. I had a hard enough time going down to the Silver uMax but post's were saying and showing enough, that I had to take a second look.
So I got the Silver and was happy with adding it. Then the same thing had to come along about the Compadre - Alright I said, and I couldn't take it anymore.
So I figure I'll nab this toy looking Compadre and swing it once or twice (hope nobody see me with it) and then get rid of it. I still have it - and I'm keeping it.

OK, I give. I have been trying to figure out the difference between the Compadre and the other Tesoros. It seems the Compadre has an ed180. Why would the more expensive ones have less? And if the Compadre was as deep as the others, would it not be perfect, or am I missing somthing here? Besides manual GB, what do the others offer??

Hey , You guys convinced me good, but you must admit from the looks of the compadre , it looks like a toy. Guys I mean no offense. I can see from the responses everyone seems pretty loyal to their compadre.

my first outing netted me 3x$2 coins, 3x20c, 2x10c, and an american quarter......an unusual find, considering i live 10km west of brisbane...and i only dug the strong beeps. i gotta go back to that first spot. the second spot i tried, also my second go with a detector, i found 20c and some great washers...

i cant tell you how good the compadre is, as i cant compare it against any other experience. but i know nothing and ive found a % of the cost of the machine in its first outing....

The Compadre is a great design.

The Silver is also a great design.

The Eldorado is a great design.

I could go on, but the point is,

every dog has his day.

Tesoro has some great dogs.

Let's go hunting:detecting:
