now i remember why i sold the last compadre.it loves emi and turning up the discrimination to out the emi just about wipes everthing else that you might want to find.now i have the 8"coil version.bah!! emubob
 
mine well both pick up the pro pointer 7" is bad but I put up with that because they find the gold :clapping:

don't be to quick to sell it off time behind the wheel will show the goodies.

You might only need to just turn down the sens. pot inside the box. After I turned mine up till it chattered, backed it off till it got quiet. I only have 2 spots in my town that I get emi. I just dont go their... KEN from Ind.
 
coming from the pro pointer Ken, think they are the same freq, but yep good idea turn it down a tad, I notice also the 7" widescan is very sensitive to well lots of things I think its not so well shielded , still a good coil though :biggrin:

put up with a bit of noise if its doing the job.

I hear about EMI problems with the Compadre from time to time but that confuses me because that is not my experience.
I have a 7" coil model with the sense turned up most of the way so it is really hot.
I have used it at literally dozens if not close to 100 different sites and I can recall only being at one where I had any issues with noise at all.
Every other site it has always been quiet as a mouse and the only time I hear anything is when my coil moves over metal objects.
Just lucky, I guess.
 
yeah I not getting emi from the park its from the garrett pro pointer 5.75 I can hear it turn on of through my headphones and the 7" widescan one I got from the UK I can hear it pulsing like 2 detectors taking so not a deal braker as the machines work fine and when swinging them yep quite as a mouse , so anyway it is what it is and not much I can do I think as they are both around that 12 kHz .

I am still lucky.
I have 2 Propointers and they never caused any interference at all with any of my detectors.
 
strange isn't it not sure why maybe my pro pointer is outta wack, and you are the only one REVIER who has taken the time to post their experience with this issue, seems others are to busy digging for goodies :rofl:
