Compadre + Zinc signal = BIG GOLD!!

REVIER

Well-known member
I have told many that I dig zincolns...all of them.
I have also said the Compadre is very sensitive to all jewelry...especially small and big gold.
It all came together for me yesterday in a section of a park I have never been to in a park I have only been hunting for a few hours since I just relocated to a new state, Kansas.

Solid zinc signal about 3 inches deep...any detector could have found this, my Vaquero or F2 too, but since I picked up this Compadre a couple of months ago it has been pretty lucky for me.

The streak continues!
14 grams of yellow 10k goodness.

I believe I have already located the owner of this thing and since it is so easy to find owners of class rings I am compelled to give them back if I can.
Found another big one last summer and gave that one back, too, but karma rewarded me with another gold band that I got to keep.
Hope that streak continues, too!

The beauty of the Compadre is not just its sensitivity to smaller gold, but its simplicity requires you to dig more once you set your discrimination properly.

Yes, you dig more junk, but the less cherry picking you do the better the finds you make.

Its a nice combination.

Congratulations.

I am a dig it all kind of hunter most of the time, and I have found a bunch of great stuff doing it this way.
This was a 3 hour hunt and for over 2 1/2 hours I used my Vaquero and hit the picnic areas around this site, but spent most of my time in a tot-lot I was thrilled to find here.
I have been using a 10X12 DD coil on the Vaq since last spring but I am getting a little tired of digging all those high-tone bottle caps that won't disc out so I switched back to the standard concentric and with the sharper and better discrimination I am enjoying hunting with the Vaq like I was a newbie all over again.
Avoided a lot of pop tops all day, too.
I could show you all of the pull tabs I dug, this park is loaded with them...all types and ages, but you guys know what they look like.

Except for the ring and a little of the clad, this pic is all the other stuff I dug with my Vaq on this great hunt.
Love my Tesoro's!

Simply put large 10 kt. gold rings come in high on the disc scale and those that investigate get the ones the other guys miss...Still remember that large diamond tennis bracelet a fellow got after
digging a Zinc penny reading on a NJ beach after a storm.....some areas are just loaded with zinc pennies and darned if you do and darned if you don't but one never knows...

Found an even bigger 10k class ring that came in at zinc also.
I have found gold rings at tabs, nickel, foil and below that, too.

Silver and gold chains can come in anywhere from iron on up because of their shape.

Is it any wonder I turned into a guy that digs most signals?

Can't stand the thought of missing...anything!

That is one very nice zinc penny!!!!

I dug 22 zinc pennies yesterday and not one was anything other than a zinc penny ... maybe on the next hunt!

I have dug thousands...but 2 of those signals turned out to be a total of 31 grams of gold.

Trust me, when you see that nice big shiny yellow object come out of the ground instead of a zinc penny, it instantly makes all that digging worthwhile.

Nice! I found a very nice silver ring at that zinc ID. Gotta love the Compadre!
