Compadre visits the Civil War

Decided to warm up a little at my place before heading over to the other house my neighbor wanted me to search. Scored this bullet almost 7 inches down with the Compadre. Definitely Civil War period. We are only two blocks from what was a Civil War hospital area. It was either Union or Confederate depending on the week. The find was in the grass area between the sidewalk and the street. The soil here is soft and sandy.

That's a big hunk of lead. The grassy area between the sidewalk and curb is one of my favorite places to detect, especially if the digging is easy.

Nice historical find , probably taken out of some soldier, I could see the doctor throwing it with an agry look on his face , and saying why do we have to kill one another , but then turn quickly back and say next, next , hurry he is bleeding badd, as he then takes his next wounded soldier
