Compadre the token killer

New member
I've been able to get out with the Compadre each day if only for a few minutes. I'm finding a large number of these tokens in the yards. They are consistently at least 4 inches down and produce a solid hit each time on the unit. These three were ones that turned up this afternoon, they are the largest size I'm finding the smaller versions are about dime size. My understanding is that they date from the 1930's or 1940's. That's what I've been told anyway. Sometimes it will be a couple per hole as with two of these but never with a coin. So far the Compadre has been great in the trashy lots I've worked. Kept the dial over near pulltab just to keep from digging all the iron trash, almost every hole yields some.

They look to be in great condition. I'm finding a lot of tokens in my area, but they're not in very good condition.

That little Compadre is more fun than barrel of monkeys.

Cool tokens!

Nice tokens!

I found several tokens like those about 10 years ago, where a carnival was setup in the late 1950's. The ones I found were a little larger than a nickel, and were most likely used for rides and games..

they sure are in excellent condition , this means and pennys will be as well so if you find the elusive 1909svdb its going to be in great shape, or the 1914d or even the 1969 rubble die worth 100.000.00 so don't spoof on the pennys you just never know the ones i find in the farm field are so corroded you can't read them so you are really in a great spot , keep up the campane we just may see some nice coins come out of that spot

Sometimes the pennies are corroded but it's the newer ones. I always surprised at the condition of the tokens. Most of the time unless buried in gravel they are in great shape.

Yes def more fun than a barrel o monkeys

Nice tokens , would make a great video( hint hint)

I'll shoot some more video next week. Working on a conference right now in the cold snowy weather of Northern Indiana. The conference I love the weather not so much.

JMC. Look for sledding hills :detecting: I wonder how the compadre works in the snow?
