Compadre sound on deep targets

Hey all, I know you all have far more experience with the compadre than I do, so here goes.
When you get a deep target what does your compadre sound like? Mine gets scratchy and broken up is this normal?
I'm talking good targets not trash on the very edge of detection limit, is this due to the non modulated audio and is it normal.
Or is the compadre modulated audio? I am just curious.

I asked this same question when I first got my Compadre because mine did not sound modulated, it was loud up to the point of losing the target. I had a Silver Umax and it was very obvious that it had modulated audio, it would get to a whisper at the end of it's range. Most of the replies I got was that it had modulated audio but that is not the case with mine, it might be there are different levels of modulation and the Compadre if modulated is very slight. You will enjoy the Compadre it's one of the best values out there. I hunt with mine at the I in iron and dig all solid signals, if the the trash gets to bad I turn the disc up to tabs and still get coins and silver. Good luck and happy hunting!:beers:

Ok, this problem with the bad audio happens around and in the house, it's an interference issue. The detection depth is cut short and audio is nasty, very sensitive little detector.
