Compadre users, a question. How do you run yours at what setting on the dial? For the very short time I using this one the knob is right around the zinc penny setting. Seems to work fine and keep the noise down. I tried all metal just for kicks and the thing just beeps constantly thanks to all the stuff in the yard. My wife commented it's too bad we can recycle all that weathered rusted iron stuff. Some of the holes I dig have almost a halo of rust around the nails and pieces of scrap. In one section of the backyard running a magnet through the exposed soil will bring it up covered in iron hair. Of course there is lots to dig just that most of it would fall into the junk category.

ya i know the all metal will find the tiny Iron things + so i operated mine just above iron so i could also get gold rings and i stopped digging BB,s at 3"

I run mine at the "I" in Iron and it does a wonderful job 15 gold rings this year 13 on that setting other 2 on my lobo ST
