how difficult would be to add a sensitivity control to the compadre?how would one go about it?i want some way of desensitizing the detector so that in some areas when it starts chattering away i could detune it,not give up and go home.the way things stand at the moment it's not far off the sellers market,unless i can do something with it,short of rapping it around a tree.blowfly

I'm sure there's a sens trimmer on the board. Once found it would be easy to panel mount a new pot. The old trimmer should have a brand and number on it to show it's value. But the Silver can be bought used for about $170 or so. This may be you quickest and best way to get what you want?

Yes...If it is giving you that much trouble, get rid of it, and get something with SENS and manual ground balance...
