Got the compadre, today and put it together and did some air testing, Was able to get a dime @ 5.25" good actually about 5.5 " gold ring about 6 to 7" now this is with factory settings I have not messed with it and i may not mess with it so i buried a dime at 4.5" deep and was not able to get it but noticed a signal off to the side about 3" off center from the dime it was saying Dig me 1st so i dug that and it turned out to be a small pellet at about 2", I was pleased with that , no wonder i could not get the dime so after digging the pellet i re scanned the dime and got a very faint signal but hey at least i was getting the dime and this dirt has magnetite in it not a lot but just enough, to make it loose some depth but hay close enough, then i started scanning closer to the cement sidewalk which has rebar in it , and it screws with any detector you just can't get close to it but , i was amazed i got a signal about 5" from the edge and it turned out to be a 22 shell agane i was impressed with how close i could get to metal and still get a hit , I owned in the past the 5.75 compadre but the 8" is doing just as well , I also tested it on all the broken small gold jewelry i have and it hit them all with good signals and on edge , and a silver chaine ably 1/16 wide solid at 2" + I would have to say this machine will find the small gold and that next to metal and fences and do it better than most detectors i have used and it is strong on gold to , But you have to be car full how much disc is used or you will loose things rather by masking or they just will not sound , but it pinpoints good and for what i like to do it will work well I will keep you posted on how it does ,

Gunnar nice report. That pellet is tiny. I can't wait to see some of your videos testing it out.

sounds good. my sister in-law wants a detector for her and my nieces to use now i turned them on to it. told her about the compadre and the things ive read on here about them. if they dont get one before christmas. thats what they all will get from me, the 8 inch coil one. they wont be able to use it until sometime in april up here in maine though. be good to see your expertise with it.

Was doing some practicing tonite and dug about a handful of 22 slugs & shells, you know even for the 8" coil it pinpoints extremely well , its a good compliment to the mirage

Nice post Gunnar...
I am getting pretty deep signals because the ground here is very wet. I figure if I can get a dime at 4" - 6" is good for me. I not into deep holes in the parks here. The Compadre is showing me that there is a lot of stuff in the ground less than 5" if you are willing to dig a lot for some nice surprises. It is the surprise I am after. Will I keep digging everything? Only the number of surprises will tell? Enjoy your information and videos. Thanks....Z

Well it is about time you seen the light. It will be a new world with that detector. Welcome to the CHURCH OF THE COMPADRE. I bet we will hear a lot from you. Have fun.. KEN. Ind

zeeky I took the Compadre out to the gravel road and got a hit well after digging down past 6" of hard packed gravel and another 3" of hard sand i dug up a zinc mason jar lid , the cool thing is even with this mineralized gravel it got thru it the lid was 9" deep yes ken this thing is going to be king of the fence line
